COUGAR PRIDE TICKET AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT SYSTEM
Our behavioral expectation system focuses on acknowledging students who follow and adhere to our three expectations. This program works in conjunction with school-wide and classroom goals.
Specific Verbal Feedback
When the students are being observed as respectful, responsible, and safe, they are acknowledged by giving specific positive verbal feedback such as:
“That was helpful how you helped your classmate pick up his/her books when they dropped to the floor. Thank you for being respectful.”
“Thank you for being responsible by being prepared for class today.”
COUGAR PRIDE Tickets
Teachers and Staff are always on the lookout for students following the CJCPCS behavioral expectations. When they catch you following the Code, students may receive an electronic COUGAR PRIDE ticket.
Parents and students can check their COUGAR PRIDE tickets online through our student database system. Teachers and staff will be giving Cougar Pride tickets many times each day to students demonstrating CJCPCS behavioral expectations.
You’ll never know when a Cougar Pride is coming, but you won’t necessarily get one every time you are Respectful, Prepared, and Safe.
What “Be Respectful”, “Be Prepared”, “Be Safe” means and how you should behave will vary across different settings. If you need a reminder, just look around for a CJCPCS expected behavior poster that will tell you exactly what is expected of you in that setting.
Each Friday names are drawn from each grade level and the names of the winners are announced. Prizes will vary each week and will include things such as: dress down, free admission to a dance, fast passes to the front of lunch lines, gift certificates, and many other interesting items.
Staff and Teacher recognition: For both the weekly and monthly drawings the staff person or teacher who gave the winning students their ticket also receives a prize.
REMEMBER: We are going to be looking for POSITIVE BEHAVIORS!
